Our projects span across South Africa.Over 30,000 candidates and over 250 training sites nationwide to recruit, train and activate a diverse workforce.
Hashtag Group assists organisations of all industries, to develop and implement programmes that alleviates poverty and the current skills shortage, through training and income creation. The training provided gives unemployed people from poor communities, job opportunities that improve their lives and that of their community.

The services we offer - via Hashtag My Media, Hashtag Academy, Hashtag Imfundo, and Hashtag Umsebenzi - assist local companies to participate in cost-sharing/revenue generating initiatives geared to support the education and employment of our youth into the formal sector.
Hashtag Academy formed as part of the Hashtag Group, with the explicit purpose of partnering with like-minded organisations to reduce unemployment in South Africa and develop skills in South Africa’s youth. Our experience in training and development is aligned with the National Skills Development Plan to improve and expand the competencies of the South African labour force.
In affiliation with Skills Development Act, we encourage partnering companies to make provision for skills development while at the same time, optimising their B-BBEE points. Through funding quality education, on behalf of our clients, our training model supports South Africa’s economic growth and aims to eliminate inequality by delivering work-ready youth to the labour force with sustainable future employment prospects.
Our #Imfundo franchises were born through the needs of corporations requiring inhouse training to increase their Skills Development score, but with the benefit of an outsourced Skills Development Facilitator. Corporations extend their business through acquiring a 74% share of our geographically spread franchises (campuses). Facilitators from the campuses take a 10% share of the franchise. Each campus is fully-equipped with facilitator/s, training, and an online management system to effectively roll out the franchisee's training requirements and report activities in real-time. The SETA-accredited facilitator is employed by the franchisee to run the facility and train the young candidates. Offering a range of SETA-accredited courses across multiple SETAs, Hashtag Imfundo assists businesses to provide training related to Skills Development Levies (SDL) and to maximise candidates' potential by developing workplace skills.
Our Hashtag Umsebenzi franchise initiative was born out of the need for greater Enterprise Development in South Africa. The initiatives offered by Hashtag Umsebenzi provides high labour absorption as well as viable SMMEs and sustainable cooperatives that play a prominent role in changing the economic landscape for disadvantaged communities. Hashtag Umsebenzi provides work-ready contractors to organisations across all trades and industries including manufacturing and construction.
Hashtag My Media employs members of informal settlements, trains and establishes them as #MM Brand Activators as representatives of the client’s brand. #MM Brand Activators endorse the brand by giving positive information about it to the wider community through word-of-mouth and promotions. They can penetrate the market successfully with the understanding and appreciation of the township consumers’ nuances. #MM Brand Activators positively leverage the brand, bringing in leads and subsequent sales by closing the gap experienced between businesses and the communities from informal settlements.
Hashtag My Media empowers our youth and unemployed with the skills and workplace experience to uplift and improve the livelihood of their communities. Together we support social development and improve youth unemployment.
